Spiritual Food

"…all ate the same spiritual food…" (1 Cor 10:3)
The spiritual food, or manna, may be right before us but we eat it as if it is merely physical. Not many of us realize the spiritual aspect of our daily circumstances. We chew physically but miss the spiritual experience while going through the wilderness. The Israelites all had manna in the wilderness and ate of it, but only a few realized what was spiritually happening. Only two entered into the promised land.

Joshua and Caleb had the "hidden manna" (Rev 2:17; Ex 16:33) experience while they went through the wilderness. They gained the real value of the daily bread by discovering that "man does not live by bread alone, but by everything that goes out of the mouth of the Lord" (Deut 8:3). By this daily experience of spiritual food, they recognized every life situation as "food" for spiritual life and growth.

When at first the Israelites were called to enter into the land of Canaan they were all afraid of the giants of the land. But Joshua and Caleb said, "these giants shall be our food, fear them not"! (Num 13-14)

What has been our complaint may really be our food.

Lord, what is my hidden spiritual food today?

How do I prepare to share a 5-minute message?

I just received a question via text from a brother who is about to share a short word at an upcoming event. He wanted to know how I prepare when I'm sharing a word. There are many more details to talk about, but for those 5-minute times, here are my notes: 1) Pray for the people  The "burden of the word" (Mal 1:1) or the specific main word I get often comes through this. If I have no clue what to share on and I'm asking the Lord about it, the answer doesn't always come until I begin to pray for the people. More often than not, I'll be praying for the souls, and some Scripture or topic will come through that. Sometimes I already have the word, and I cannot tell when it came, but I know what I should share on. In your case, you may have a word already in your heart that has worked in you to get you to this point. Even still, you take the word and bring it to the Lord and pray for the people that will be listening. 2) Meditate and receive the word The largest par...
